Events Calendar

In the winter season (October - April) PCC meets every Tuesday night at Clennon Valley swimming Pool and during the summer season (May - September) the meet changes each week so please refer to the events calendar below. For additional information, please see the Club Nights page.

In addition to the events listed on this page, please keep an eye on the forum and our facebook page to see what's on week to week.

Winter 2017 - 2018

Pool nights at Clennon every Tuesday 9pm to 10pm.  Final Pool session on April 24th

Upcoming Pool Sessions
Jan 9th is a normal session.
Jan 16th will be all Kayak football, £5 each. Must have helmets & BA's (Club kit available)
Jan 30th we shall welcome to Long boats/Sea kayaks rolling (in one roped off end) Normal boat session in rest of pool.
Feb 6th is an Normal session.
Feb 13th will be all Kayak football, £5 each. Must have helmets & BA's (Club kit available)

PCC 2017 Tuesday Night Summer Paddles

Meeting times will be at 7pm (unless stated otherwise). There will be no changing facilities at these locations and the club trailer will not be brought due to parking and security issues.

If you wish to hire a club boat for any Tuesday club sessions please contact us at least 2 days before to organise.

Anyone attending any and all Paignton Canoe Club activities does so at their own risk. All paddling trips and events are entirely weather dependent and because of this can be cancelled or reorganised at any time up to the last minute.

May

2nd: Youngs Park Road, Goodrington for general Paddle in the Bay. Beginners’ course will be meeting at Paignton harbour.

9th: Youngs Park Road, Goodrington for general Paddle in the Bay. Beginners’ course will be meeting at Paignton harbour.

16th: Stoke Gabriel to Totnes. Meet Longmarsh car park Totnes to organise shuttle to Stoke Gabriel, paddle upstream to Totnes.

23rd: BBQ at Silver Cove: Meet Youngs Park Road Goodrington to paddle to Silver Cove for BBQ and Return. Bring lights, food and Kit for a BBQ.

30th: Babbacombe to Coombe Cellars. Meet Coombe Cellars to organise shuttle to Babbacombe. Paddle via Teignmouth to Coombe Cellars and then drinks at the pub, long paddle ideal for longer boats. There is the possible option for those in shorter to boats to paddle up from Coombe Cellars and return. Bring lights

June

6th: : Orestone. Meet Meadfoot to paddle out and around the Orestone and/or Thatchers Rock and return.

13th: Rescue Practice Session. Meet Youngs Park Road, Goodrington to practice Rescues, towing and anything else. Dress to get wet!

20th: Kingswear to Brixham. Meet at Brixham Breakwater car park at 6.30pm to organise shuttle to Kingswear, paddle to Brixham. A long committing 9 mile paddle for longer boats only. Bring lights for possible night finish

27th : Preston Sea Front. Paddle to Meadfoot and/orLondon Bridge, Torquay harbour and return.

July

4th: Possible AS Watersports Demo Night for PCC. Park Haven Banks Car Park. AS Watersports will have their demo fleet of boats for PCC members to try out for the night. If not meet Haven banks and paddle upstream for drink at Mill on the Exe

11th: Kinggswear to Dittisham. Meet Darthaven car park, Kingswear, paddle upstream to Dittisham, and drink at the pub and return. Bring lights and money for the pub.

18th: BBQ Imperial Hotel Beach. Meet at Meadfoot Beech paddle round to Imperial hotel beach for a BBQ. Bring lights and kit for a BBQ.

25th: Stoke Gabriel to Bow Creek: Meet The River Shack by the Millpond, Stoke Gabriel, paddle upstream to Bow creek Pub for drinks and snacks and return. Bring money, lights and warm clothes for the Pub

August

1st: Brixham to Broad sands. Meet Brixham harbour for local paddle to Broadsands and return.

8th: Paddle the Exe: Park Haven Banks Car park by AS watersports Exeter. Paddle the Exe either down the canal or down the weirs and return. Helmets required if running the weirs. Bring lights and money for possible stop at double locks pub.

15th: Youngs Park Road, Goodrington for general Paddle in the Bay.

22nd: River Teign Clean. Meet at Passage House Inn Newton Abbot to paddle upstream and clean up as much litter as we can. At least 1 canoe needed as a garbage barge. Return to Passage House for drinks.

29th: Berry Head Caves: Meet Brixham Break Water car park to paddle out around Berry head, explore the caves and return.

September

3rd [Sunday] - Ayrtons Dream Swim.  Usual paddle support needed.

5th: Exe Estuary and Canal. Meet at the University rowing club, Bridge Road (A379), Exeter by the swing bridge on the Exeter canal. Paddle down the estuary to Turf Locks, quick drink at turf locks and return up the canal.

12th: Explore Dartmouth towards Blackpool Sands. Meet Darthaven Mariner car park, Kingswear. Paddle out to sea; turn right towards Blackpool sands explore and return.

19th: Stoke Gabriel to Bow Creek: Meet The River Shack by the Millpond, Stoke Gabriel, paddle upstream to Bow creek Pub for drinks and snacks and return. Bring money, lights and warm clothes for the Pub

26th: Night BBQ at Crystal Cove: Meet Youngs Park Road Goodrington to paddle to Crystal Cove for BBQ and Return. Bring lights, food and Kit for a BBQ.  It will be getting dark early so expect to return in the dark!

October

2nd: KIT CLEAN and sort at the end of the summer season (7pm, 2nd October, Paignton Harbour).
All PCC boats and kit hired out to be returned for this please.  Any and all help very much appreciated. Deposits on PCC boats hired for the summer season will be returned when all boats kit are returned undamaged with all attachments in place and in appropriate condition to this event (or before)

3rd: Return to the Pool. Start of the PCC 2017 Winter season, subs due, back in Torbay Leisure centre Pool for 9pm.

6th: The club Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday 6th October 7pm at the 'Old Manor Pub' in the skittle alley at the rear.  Food and Snacks to be paid for by the club.  After the AGM there will be skittles for those who are still keen.

All paddling trips and events are entirely weather dependent.  All Paddle sport has a certain risk to it. It is not and never will be 100% safe. Anyone attending any and all Paignton canoe club activities does so at their own risk. Pcc rules can be found at:
